Cadenza — Support
Getting started
- Put in your AirPods Pro, AirPods (3rd generation), or AirPods Max — these have the motion sensors Cadenza needs.
- Open Cadenza and tap Allow when it asks for Motion & Fitness access.
- Set a goal, prop your phone where you can glance at it, and start jumping. Every jump counts itself.
Requirements
- iPhone running iOS 17 or later.
- Motion-capable AirPods: AirPods Pro, AirPods (3rd gen), or AirPods Max. (Standard AirPods and other headphones don’t have the required motion sensors.)
Troubleshooting
Make sure your AirPods are connected and in your ears, and that they’re a supported model (Pro / 3rd gen / Max). The screen switches to the counter automatically once they’re detected.
Enable it in Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness → Cadenza (and make sure “Fitness Tracking” is on). Then reopen the app.
Use the Sensitivity slider on the main screen — move it left if it over-counts small movements, right if it misses light jumps. Detection can vary a little by AirPods model and jumping style.
Cadenza keeps the screen awake while a session is running. If you manually lock the phone or switch apps, counting pauses (it runs while the app is open in the foreground).
Grant Health access in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Cadenza, and enable writing Workouts. Cadenza saves each finished session as a Jump Rope workout.
